Bobby Flay is also a List Producer

Fast Company recently compiled an article on the most successful people’s productivity secrets. One of the featured celebrities is Bobby Flay who admits that he uses lists to keep on top of things.

Bobby says:

Whether I’m cooking Thanksgiving dinner or starting a new menu at [his newest restaurant] Gato, I make lists. When I cross things off, it makes me feel accomplished. It’s the only way I can get things done. It wasn’t something I learned in school—I dropped out of high school, so anything I did then wasn’t successful. I learned it later.

Bobby also talked about how he keeps his lists on a yellow legal pad. Check out my pinboard to find your favorite list making celebrity:

List of Vegan Alternatives

One of the most popular guest blogs on ListProducer.com has been George Nickle’s “Checklist for Going Vegan.” He was kind enough to write it for Jay and I when we were thinking of “going vegan.” It’s been a tremendous hit and George has included some great information and even some recipes in the comments section when readers asked for more from him. Appreciate all his knowledge and willingness to share.

In light of the vegan post’s popularity — I’ve decided to feature another blog on this subject. This one is by a lovely chef from California. Chloe Coscarelli has a cookbook coming out and was the winner of Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars.” I’m actually doing a segment with her where we will try to turn our meat-loving anchor into a vegan convert! She has been a vegan for much of her life and has given me this list of popular swap outs for non-vegan foods. Vegan food is as popular as it’s ever been, even some non-vegans choose to have a vegan day, perhaps a ‘meat-free Monday!’ Because of this, there are plenty of supermarkets trying to appeal to this trend, some online companies even offering plant-based subscription meals delivered to people’s doors! Meat-free products are on the constant rise and this list should be able to help you create your own vegan dishes at home!

I’m dispelling the myth that animal-free cooking is bland, visually unappetizing and full of sprouts! By using my favorite vegan ingredients; you’ll never miss the meat, eggs, butter, or cream.

1. Vinegar

Vinegar is a great egg replacement especially for cakes. When combined with baking soda, vinegar acts as a binding agent and creates a moist texture.

2. Cashews

Blending raw cashews with water is a perfect cream alternative for savory dishes like fettuccine alfredo. Read more

Guy Fieri’s Game-Watching Party List

Every night Jay and I watch Guy Fieri’s, “Guy’s Big Bite” on Food Network before we go to bed.  Probably not the best idea — because we are always hungry! But we both love Guy and that’s why I was so thrilled to get this list from him for throwing the perfect football party! He’s the expert in both football and food!

I’m not a football fan — but I am a food fan and football parties are the most fun of all!  Here’s Guy’s list for a fantastic fiesta that will save you time so you can enjoy the game.

5 Tips for an Unbeatable Game-Watching Party

1. Choose the Right Foods – Choose foods that can be prepped beforehand so that it keeps coming throughout the game. Homemade pizzas are always a hit! Ask your local pizzeria for balls of raw pizza dough and you can create your own varieties: vegetable, plain, meat, or even something sweet, like a s’mores pizza with chocolate and marshmallows.

2. Flow – Prevent traffic jams by putting drinks in the garage. Fill three coolers with different categories of beverages: waters, non-alcoholics, and beers. Read more
