My First Blog Tour

This post is going to be a slight departure from the content you’re used to reading on ListProducer.com but I hope you’ll find it as fun.  I was invited to participate in what’s called a “blog tour” by writer and blogger Sarah Klein.

Here’s how it works:  I answer four questions about my writing process and then introduce three new bloggers who will do the same thing on their blogs next week.  And so on and so on…kind of like a chain letter for blogs.  I hope it’s a fun opportunity to gain some insight into how I’m able to pump out this blog three times a week and also introduce you to some bloggers I really admire.

Here we go!

1. What am I working on?
I’m always working on something! My biggest project to date has been my book, which will be published this fall by Viva Editions.  It’s called “Listful Thinking: Using Lists to be More Productive, Efficient and Less Stressed.” Right now we are working on marketing plans and what the cover will look like. It’s very exciting and I’m thrilled to be able to share it with all my Listproducer.com blog readers when it’s ready!

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?

There are a lot of productivity experts out there but none really spoke to me personally.  I like to think that my blog speaks to busy professionals who are trying to juggle home and work challenges in a modern world.  So while I love my pen and paper lists I also try to incorporate technology whenever possible in productivity.

3. Why do I write what I do?

A friend and stress expert (Heidi Hanna) aways says “You teach what you most have to learn.” And I couldn’t agree with her more.  I love lists and they are part of my everyday life but I use them because I need them.  I’m truly curious to find out better ways to be more efficient and get things done in less time.  So I write about them not only for my blog readers but also for myself.

4. How does my writing process work?

I’m constantly inspired throughout the day.  It could be an article I read or a conversation I overhear on the subway — there are story ideas everywhere.  I’m lucky to have two phenomenal interns working with me who help me curate content and write wonderful blog posts.  We chat on the phone once a week to pick topics and take notes on how we’d like to cover each story. Then we write the posts and social media copy throughout the week and constantly tweak and change things on the fly.  It’s amazing to be able to work collaboratively and get things done!

Up next, I present to you:

Terri Trespicio (Territrespicio.com) Terri is one of my dearest friends, biggest supporters and most-fun collaborators.  We met years ago when she was a senior editor for Martha Stewart.  I booked her as a guest and the rest is history.  She is so good at so many things and writing is definitely one of them. She’s also a media coach, lifestyle expert, dating doctor, speaker and branding consultant.  If you want a unique take on any topic — Terri is your woman!

Laura DeAngelis (Lauralovesfitness.com) Laura is a good friend who has a passion for fitness in the most accessible way. She’s not one of those experts who will beat you over the head with exercises and super foods.  Her approach is much more realistic and inviting.  She’s also a former TV reporter & producer, which is just one of the reasons we get along so well!

Ingrid Prueher (Babysleepwhisperer.com) If you have a baby who won’t go to sleep — call Ingrid!  She and I met a few years ago at a BlogHer conference.  She helps parents train their babies to sleep from a very young age.  Well-rested parents all over sing her praises.

Thanks for reading!
