Productivity Tips I Learned from Seth Godin

screen-shot-2016-11-20-at-12-41-49 On this blog I have talked about some of the well known experts in productivity. I caught a recent interview with Seth Godin on Marie Forleo TV and I was inspired to share it with you. Seth isn’t in the productivity biz per se, but he’s one of the most prolific writers and business developers out there. He’s written 18 bestselling books, built and sold businesses and has some of the best advice. Here are some of the top tips from his talk with Marie:

Be geared to ship

I’m a perfectionist – I can’t help it! I don’t like to put out anything that I’m not 100% happy with. I’m getting better but it’s still an issue.

The problem with that, as Seth points out, is that the focus is on making it perfect instead of just getting it out there. Seth writes a blog entry every single day, they won’t all be great, but everyday he’s putting his thoughts and ideas out there.

When you do that you can’t worry about making it perfect, you just have to go for it. Being a perfectionist can go hand in hand with overthinking or overstretching an idea. If there’s something you want to do, stop worrying about it and just get started! Read more

Make Technology Work For You

mail-566337_640You may have seen my recent emails about email overwhelm and my course Take Back Your Inbox. I’m determined to help everyone reach inbox zero! Our email overwhelm is really just a symptom of our much bigger problem… technology.

There are so many apps out there designed to make your more productive, you could waste a whole week downloading all of them. Too much technology can be counterproductive. So how can you target the right apps for you? How do you figure out which emails count and which ones can go?

Tonight I’m doing a teleseminar with ADHD expert and author Terry Matlen where I will be discussing some easy ways to use technology to be more productive. We will talk through a significant number of apps and how to use them throughout your day for maximum efficiency.

What we will cover:

  • How to get out from the overwhelm of email
  • Ways to use technology to help you — apps that will make you more productive

If you’d be interested in joining us for the teleseminar click the link here. I’ll also be doing a Q&A at the end, so if there’s any burning questions you have, now’s your chance!

I’m Moving…Come With Me!

aweber_logoBig news over here at ListProducer.com.  I’m switching email servers.  Nerd Alert!!  haha

It’s not really that complicated though. Email servers help me keep the readers of this blog up to date with all my lastest news and posts.

My previous email server worked fine when I didn’t have as many subscribers, but now the site is getting bigger it’s time for a shake up!

I’ve been making small changes to the site over the past few months to help you get more out of your lists and switching to AWeber will help me do that.

This latest move means you’ll need to resubscribe to receive emails from me.

So I would love you to write down “Resubscribe to Paula’s email list” on your to-do list right now!

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Look out for another email from AWeber saying it’s time to re-subscribe to my email list.
  2. Click the link in that email and re-subscribe.

Easy, right?

But wait…there’s more!

As an added bonus I’m also offering a FREE copy of my ebook ‘50 Ways To Get More Done’ to everyone who re-subscribes.

The ebook features all my top productivity tips to help you get the most out of your time.

I recently posted about Marie Kondo’s book, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, and about the importance of holding onto things that bring you joy.

So don’t let ListProducer.com or my productivity tips slip through the cracks!

To continue receiving all the latest tips on productivity and lists please click the link from AWeber.

Thanks!

The Most Productive Tricks Learned Over Drinks

11855811_1688011314762569_3730399941978373230_nIt’s amazing what you can learn over drinks.  Really.

What was it that Ernest Hemingway said? “Write drunk, edit sober.”  Ok so that doesn’t perfectly make my point but it’s a good saying nevertheless.

Recently I was invited as a guest at the LadyDrinks Author Series Dinner in New York City for my book Listful Thinking. My friend and fellow newswoman Joya Dass runs the events and I’m thankful she asked me to participate.  The room was filled with entrepreneurs, doctors, teachers, journalists and coaches. It was an excellent opportunity to discuss and share thoughts on productivity with other professionals.  Even though I’m a “productivity expert” and I’m constantly seeking out new information to share.
