Checklist for Giving Great Gifts

My mother-in-law and I share a love for giving gifts. We love shopping for them even more — but that’s beside the point. She’s especially good at this task – always giving a unique and personalized present for every occasion, last year she found a website where you can create your own bobblehead, she had several made for family members and they absolutely loved them, you can’t get a more personalized gift than a minature version of yourself. I’m not too bad, but there have been times when I’ve had to purchase a package similar to one of these same day delivery gift baskets, haha!

It’s such an amazing feeling when you give just the right gift and the recipient is thrilled with it. It really makes your friend feel appreciated and shows that you have a great attention to detail and care for them a lot. It’s important to think ahead so you can find the perfect gift.

Here’s a checklist for giving great gifts:

1. Start Early

How many times have you waited until the last second to get a gift and either spent too much money or settled on something that was convenient but might not have been the best idea for your friend? If you started early – this wouldn’t happen. Start thinking about friends’ birthdays or events at least two months beforehand. Read more

“Like” My New Facebook Page

At first I resisted Facebook Timeline.  I avoided the messages about it and vowed to be a hold out — but I finally gave in. (I’m pretty sure I had no choice actually.)  I’ve converted my List Producer Fan Page to Timeline and it actually looks more like a webpage than a traditional Facebook page.  I have to say I actually like it.  I hope you’ll “like it” too.

I post new blogs and other interesting articles and quotes that I find throughout the day.  I’m also going to be posting more photos and videos here as well.  I’d love to keep up with you via Facebook and run contests and see how your list making is going.  Thanks in advance for “liking” me!

Ways to Use Lists

It’s always interesting to find out how other list makers do it…make lists, I mean.  What works for one person might not work for someone else.  I think it takes some trial and error to figure out what works best for you and will make you most productive.  Here is a guest blog from Darla Arni — she’s a speaker and author: Read more

Happy Birthday to My Blog!

Wow — I can’t believe it’s been one year since I first started this blog. What began as a hobby for a compulsive list maker has turned into much more than that. This blog is now part of my everyday life — it’s a creative outlet and a passion. I really love it and am so thankful that all of you read it. Thank you!

I’ve heard a lot of you guys saying that my blog has inspired you to start a blog of your own and it brings me so much joy knowing I’ve inspired something that major! I think blogging is a great way to express yourself and meet some amazing people. If you’ve been toying around with the idea of starting your own blog then I think you should just go for it and see what happens!

There are lots of people that will be willing to help you every step of the way. Hosting Foundry’s site shows you some great web hosting suppliers, you can ask in comments on blogs for help, and even reach out to bloggers to see if they will collab with you to get your blog up and running straight away. It’s just a matter of getting started because a lot can happen in just one year!

10 Lessons from Oprah & Deepak Chopra

“You become what you believe” has been my mantra for some time — thanks to Oprah Winfrey.  It’s one of her most famous sayings — she actually borrowed it from Maya Angelou.  It’s by far my favorite life lesson.  It’s true: if you believe it — you can become it!

I was fortunate enough to be in the audience for Oprah’s show “Lifeclass” at Radio City Music Hall in New York City to learn some more life lessons.  The show airs on April 23rd on OWN.  My best friend Danielle and I were there — tweeting and texting away! They actually encouraged and allowed the use of cell phones in the theater.  It was a very cool day for social media. Read more
