Apps That Get Me Through My Day

iphomeThere are so many productivity apps on the iPhone, trying to find the good ones can sometimes be a challenge. I like to try as many apps as possible and I often post about them here. If you follow this blog you might’ve wondered what apps I actually keep on my phone – well now you can find out.

Here are some of my favorites:

Post It Notes – Post It Notes are one of the oldest and greatest productivity tool. They’re just so handy! Use this app to keep track of your notes.

Umano – Want to catch up on your favorite articles, but don’t have time to sit down and read them? Umano reads articles to you, so you can listen to them wherever. They even have some of my articles and I narrate them too!

Take Yourself on a Date Tonight

cakeladyI was working with a private coaching client the other day and she told me that she was very stressed out and anxious.

I asked her how much time she’s spending with herself, all alone, recharging. She said — very little. She said she felt sort of guilty about taking time for herself because that meant taking time away from her child and from her husband. Read more

Meetings Don’t Have to Be An Eye Roll

doOne of my least favorite things is going to meetings.  Sometimes you have a good meeting and you’ll walk away with a much better understanding of the task at hand. However, I find that the majority of these structured get togethers are painfully unfocused and disorganized, especially if they’re on the phone. Even when there is a clear plan of action for a meeting, people will often go off on tangents discussing their vacation plans or the weather. I get it, it’s just human nature but it’s still not productive! Read more

Can you do me a favor?

Listful Thinking CoverI really can’t stop smiling because we are literally weeks away from a big dream of mine coming true.  Publishing a book has been a note on my bucket list since I was a little girl. So it’s hard to believe that it’s actually happening and my book, “Listful Thinking: Using Lists to be More Productive, Highly Successful and Less Stressed” is going to be coming out in January.  But it hasn’t been an easy road.
It’s difficult to write a book and there are so many to-do’s to check off on the journey to publishing.
You need:
  • Great ideas
  • Time to write
  • Creativity
  • Time to rewrite
  • More time to rewrite
  • A great publisher
  • A wonderful agent
  • Patience
That last bit has been the hardest for me.  This is a culture of instant gratification and I admit I thrive on it.  I’m in the news business after all — the ultimate quick fix. So it’s been a little difficult at times to just sit back and let things happen with this book.  But I’m working on it!
But here’s the good news –you don’t have to wait until January because you can pre-order the book right now!  See — instant gratification!  Pre-orders are a big deal in the publishing world and so I’d appreciate it if you did it.  Better yet — buy a few copies if you want to get your holiday shopping out of the way!
Use “Listful Thinking” to learn how to:
  • Save time
  • Be more organized
  • Be more productive
  • Save money
  • Reduce stress
I even designed a brand new website just for info about the book at ListfulThinkingBook.com.  Thanks for checking it out!

3 Solutions for Shipping Headaches

Avoid the -Shipping Headache- (1)I know people don’t want to talk about Christmas in October, but there are only nine weeks left. If you want to send presents in time for Hanukkah and Christmas you realistically only have about seven weeks left to find the perfect gift. (Even less if it’s international!)

If you follow this blog you probably know that I like to prepare for the holidays early to avoid the last-minute rush. I’m actually way behind on my shopping. I’m usually done by now so I need to get back on track myself. While I find that online shopping has made some things easier, it brings it’s own form of problems and headaches – mainly shipping. For many companies, finding auto transport leads is not too much of a problem. However, occasionally, we run into shipping issues that are simply too much for us to take.

Fortunately this year I have found a few shipping sites that can help ease the burden:

Shyp* – If you’ve found the perfect gift for your aunt but don’t want to be bothered going to the post office to ship it — no worries. Shyp will pick up your items, package them and send them anywhere in the world for the lowest cost. It’s currently only available in San Francisco and New York, but they plan to release it in Miami soon too. Read more
