Reduce Browser Tab Clutter with OneTab
Part of becoming more productive means purging some of your bad habits. But there are some bad habits you might have and you possibly don’t even realize how they’re negatively affecting you.
For example, I have a habit of opening lots of tabs in my web browser. Any time I see an interesting article or recipe I’ll open it in a new tab with the intention of reading it later. The problem is I end up with a lot of tabs, so many that it starts to slow my computer down and overwhelm me.
I could always just close them – but I do want to look at them eventually and I always get annoyed when I can’t find something I had planned to read or a video I wanted to watch.
Luckily I have found a solution.
It’s a Chrome browser extension called OneTab and it’s as simple as it sounds. It reduces all your open tabs into one tab. If you want to check them out you can either open up all the tabs or just individual items.
OneTab is secure (your browsing history is not shared with anyone) and it’s completely free. It couldn’t be any easier! Now my computer runs much faster and I can still store all those random articles and recipes to read at a later date. Although I’ve also started using Pocket again to store those articles for later so they don’t clog up my One Tab tab either.
If you don’t already use Chrome as your primary web browser I would highly recommend it. It’s much easier to use and is kept up to date with the latest plugins like flash player so almost all websites will work on Chrome. It will also work on Firefox. (But not default browsers such as Safari and Internet Explorer).
OMG! This is the BEST.THING.EVER!
I’ve always had so many tabs open, and besides slowing things down, they are DISTRACTING. I LOVE this!!
So glad you’re excited about this! Once you start using it – let me know what you think. I’m really loving it myself.
