5 Reasons to Take a Vacation

We should all take a break from time to time. It’s a chance to recharge and kick back.  Although we need money for holidays, booking it and worrying about that later is a thought, otherwise this could hold you back from enjoying life and visiting all these amazing places!
Americans don’t take nearly enough vacations but it’s OK to put your own well being on your to-do list!

Here’s a list of reasons you should take a vacation:

1. Be More Productive: First of all…if you’re like me — you prepare in advance for a trip and make sure all of your ducks are in a row before you leave. Read more

Check Out My Summer Lists

Now that I’ve got you started on your summer to-do list…it’s time to check out some seasonal lists.  I had the great pleasure of creating three lists for VMV Hypoallergenics’ INSKIN Magazine!

The magazine is distributed in their stores around the world and also digitally on their website.  You may remember hearing about them from me — I’ve been good friends with their CEO, Laura Verallo de Bertotto, forever and even highlighted her as one of my Featured List Producers.

I hope you enjoy these lists in the magazine:

  • Throwing a summer soiree (page 3)
  • Finding the fountain of youth (page 10)
  • Planning the perfect vacation (page 14)

These Lists are Shortcuts for Life

I’m all for shortcuts — that’s why I make so many lists about whatever task I’m working on.  Whether it be looking for an apartment or finding a new restaurant I like to work things out on paper and give myself a cheat sheet.  I’ve written about my new favorite source for cheat sheets called SkinnyScoop.com.  It’s a great website that gives visitors the “skinny” on all sorts of topics to make life easier.

I’ve compiled a couple of lists for the site about how to be more productive and the best websites for planning a vacation.  It’s great fun to make lists using their software and to read some of the others on the site.  You can comment on and add to any list you like. It’s a nice way to interact and find shortcuts for just about anything.  You’ll find ways to declutter, the best subscription websites, amazing dessert recipes, etc.

I’m honored to be named as one of the SkinnyScoop Tastemakers.  That means that I’m part of a group of 9 women who will actively contribute to the site and offer our expertise in our various fields.  So I’ll be making lists about making lists! Perfect — I can do that!  I hope you’ll check out the site, upload your own lists and read through some of mine and the other Tastemaker’s lists.

Vacation Planning Made Easy With a List

Planning vacations is one of my favorite topics, and it is for others too.  For the most part, all that matters to people is that they get to relax and have a great vacation. I bring it up with almost everyone I meet because I love to get word-of-mouth recommendations for new adventures.

I recently met Korinne Kubena Belock, founder of Urban Simplicity, and we got to talking about trips of course. Korinne worked with Mayor Michael Bloomberg for 10 years as an organizer for his team. Since then she’s left and started her own organizing company in New York City to help people simplify their lives.

She mentioned that she was taking a trip to California and needed a guest blog while she was away. This is where I come in with one of my lists. I was thrilled when she asked me to guest blog and fill a void on her site while she basks in the sun! Check out my list for planning a vacation.
