3 Ways to Make Better Lists in 2012
We all start off the year with a clean slate. You’re able to leave some of the past behind and move on with some new-found inspiration. But let’s be honest — some of the things you didn’t do the year before will creep into the new year. Here’s 3 steps to making better to-do lists in 2012.
1. Evaluate: This is probably the most time consuming part. Take a look at your goals and your to-dos and decide what their priorities will be in the new year. If getting “new furniture” doesn’t really matter to you anymore — then scratch it off your list. Be realistic and downsize the things you don’t need to focus on right now. This will help you to be more productive with the projects you do want to keep.
2. Consolidate: Now that you have a shorter to-do list there is even more you can do to shrink it. Put all the similar projects together and pair them up — you can even make separate lists for them if you feel up to the challenge. Putting everything you need to do to clear out your garage together will make it much easier to accomplish the task.
3. Delegate: I don’t know why people have such a hard time with this one. It’s the most fun! Turn to your friends, family, co-workers and get more done. If you ask for help and look for ideas, resources and another set of hands — you can be much more efficient with your project. You will save time and money too by doing a little research and getting the best person for the job.
