Get Some Time Back and Still Get Things Done

Time…it’s what everyone complains about and what we wish we had more of. But maybe you’re not using your time wisely enough. This quote makes me chuckle,

“If you don’t have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?”

Ha – I’ll tell you who said it in a minute.

TaskRabbit.com is a service that will help you get everything on your to-do list done. I wrote a guest blog for their NYC launch and met with a few of their staffers while they were in town. I have used TaskRabbit to get two projects completed that had been giving me a headache.

I wanted a spreadsheet of all the blogs, guest blogs and pending blogs I had accumulated. It’s easy enough data entry work but I just didn’t want to do it. So I hired a TaskRabbit to do it and she was wonderful, efficient and friendly. I also had a brilliant TaskRabbit make me a “blog archive” page for this website. It sounds easy right? Well it’s not at all unless you know HTML, which I do not. I wasted hours researching and trying to do it myself. Some things should be left to professionals. I’m so happy it’s done now.

Back to that quote — “If you don’t have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?” – it belongs to Hall of Fame basketball player and coach John Wooden. Now you know I’m not the sports anchor in the family…that’s Jay….but I know a good quote when I see one – even if it’s linked to a pro athlete. I have to give credit to the people at FancyHands.com for tweeting it out and bringing it to my attention.

It just reminds me not to stress over doing everything. I can’t do everything right all the time — so it’s OK to ask for help. Even if I have to pay a TaskRabbit or someone from FancyHands.com, which is another site I’m loving these days. It’s subscription based and it’s like having a personal assistant. They will make reservations for you, cancel your cable service, do research for you, find you a cleaning person, etc. Basically anything that is virtual. They won’t do physical tasks like picking up your laundry like TaskRabbits will.

These are two amazing sites that will help you make the most of your time. So what if you have to pay someone to help you. In the end it’s your time – use it wisely!
