Magazine Helps You Achieve Goals

Everyone can use a little push every now and then to achieve his or her goals. I think the best motivator is to hear about other people who are living their dreams. I’ve written about MyLifeList.org in the past — the social media site for goal makers and even highlighted their chief operating officer, Shelagh Braley, as one of my featured list producers. MyLifeList.org has just launched “Achiever Magazine,” which is all about helping you reach for the stars.

This first edition is geared towards college students and I have a feature in the magazine with tips for success. If you’re a regular reader of this blog — you KNOW that writing a to-do list is one of those tips! There’s also information about saving money, looking better and eating right.

But the real crux of the magazine is the inspirational stories. MyLifeList.org is filled with travel, family, home, career and personal goals and success stories. It’s those goals that have become the foundation for this magazine. I urge all of you to check out “Achiever Magazine” and let me know what you think!

I’m the “Blogger of the Week”!

I was lucky enough to be featured as the “Blogger of the Week” on Terry Jaymes “Alive” radio show on KIRO-FM in Seattle this past weekend. Terry and I chatted about my list making ways and how this blog started.

Please listen here and skip ahead to 20:51 for the beginning of my segment.

It was really fun and different to be on the other side of the interview. Usually I’m the one asking the questions — but Terry was terrific and engaging. This was the first time I had listened to Terry’s show and I think a lot of you will really like it. Terry is a big goal maker and even wrote a book about it to help people reach his or her full potential.

On his website the show is described as, “The real man’s approach of self-betterment” – advice, personal stories, edgy, humorous and honest – Terry Jaymes ALIVE is for anybody who chooses to live an extraordinary life.”

I’m all for that! Give it a listen on KIRO-FM’s website every Saturday night from 6pm-8pm Eastern. I’m so excited to have been a part of it!

How to Push Yourself for Success

I have to be honest — I didn’t want to write a post for today. I usually write the night before and it was late and I was tired. I had a full day of shooting segments and was really looking forward to going to bed. I thought — “I don’t have that much to say today,” and “I’m too lazy to copy edit a guest post to put up” so I thought of just going to bed. But I pushed myself because I’ve made a commitment to this blog and to all of you who read it.

Pushing yourself even just a little bit will help you achieve your goals and become successful in all areas of your life. Think about all the successful people you know — they pushed themselves even when they were too tired or too busy or too frustrated.

Here is a list of ways to be inspired when you’re struggling: Read more

I’m Going Back to School With Oprah

Visit to The Oprah Winfrey ShowWhen Oprah went off the air in May 2011 no one was more upset than me. OK, well maybe my best friend Danielle. And OK…maybe lots of other people all over the world too. Danielle, our friend Jessica and I were fortunate enough to be in the audience for one of Oprah’s last shows.

Through the 25 seasons we learned valuable life lessons, makeup tips and met characters we would never have known existed without Oprah to show us. Not being able to check in with her everyday has left a huge void.

But thankfully that void will be filled today. I’m going back to school…and my teacher, once again, is Oprah. Danielle and I have planned a viewing party to watch the first episode of Oprah’s Lifeclass on OWN. We are two of the over one million students who will attend class. There’s still time to join the class by signing up online.

Here’s why you should join us:

1. It’s Oprah! You know people will be talking about this tomorrow — so why not be a part of history?

2. You’ll reconnect with the show you love. She will use portions of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” to teach lessons that matter most to her.  If you were a fan of the show — this is a great opportunity to see a bit of insight into each episode. Read more

Website Makes Your Life Easier With Lists

List nerds rejoice! I’ve found a website where you can upload all sorts of lists and share them with others all over the Internet.

I’m all about this site because I share the exact same philosophy. Give me what I need to know in easy, bite-sized blurbs.  They make it easy to share and add to lists.  You can even embed them on blogs and in emails.  And it’s lots of fun to make these lists and get suggestions from other people.

There are lists about just about anything on the site like:

I even made one of my very own! Check it out and please add your own secrets for getting more accomplished at work.
