Watch My Webinar To Boost Your Productivity

I started this site nearly three years ago when a friend asked me to share an apartment-hunting list I had made. And helping others become more organized and productive has been the major reason I’ve kept writing for all of these years. Wednesday, I decided that it was time to take that help to the next level so I hosted my very first webinar!

It was a lot of fun (despite some technical glitches — please excuse!) In case you missed it, you can see it here:

One of the biggest setbacks people face is just getting started. Let me help you tackle your inbox, find time to cross off your to-dos and make better lists to set you up for success in 2014! If you want personal help, please fill out this Free Productivity Assessment to better understand where you need more organization in your life. I’ll hand pick a few people to have a personal one-on-one phone call with to focus on any issues that are keeping you from being more productive.

Thanks for checking out my webinar!

Makeover Your Home Office

Have you started spring cleaning yet? I went through my closet this weekend and got rid of 20 pairs of shoes. I’m not even exaggerating. It was ridiculous. But I feel much better now that the task is complete…and excited to replace some of those shoes. 🙂

But spring cleaning doesn’t apply to your home only. Don’t forget your office too. Whether it’s at home or in an office — an organized desk can send your productivity soaring.

When it comes to giving your office a makeover, it could be as simple as adding little features such as wall quotes around the room or switching up the carpet once in a while. With this being said, no matter what you do, if you like the new look, then that’s what matters. This may also improve productivity in the office.

Recently the folks at Manilla.com came to me with a dilemma. A comedian/actress named Jo had let her desk mess get out of hand. She wasn’t even able to use her desk anymore and had moved over to her dining room table to get work done. Except — her productivity suffered so they called me in to do an office makeover. Check out this video for a look.

Never Pick Up Your Phone Again

Desk Phone

I’m going to share a productivity tip I learned a long time ago.  In the past when I was working as a line producer of a local news station — I would always pick up my phone when it rang at my desk.  I had to — it might be about that night’s show.  Some people don’t have a choice.

But when I started producing longer-term stories and didn’t have a daily deadline the calls became too much.  I get pitched dozens and dozens of times per day — whether it be through email or phone.  If I talked to every single person who called — my productivity would suffer.  So instead — I use a simple trick that has been extremely successful for me.  Click on my latest YouTube video to find out how to make it work for you too.

Finding Success Through List Making

Dr. Shannon Reece

Making lists will make you successful. I’ve said it a zillion times because it’s definitely worked for me. I’m an Emmy award winning TV producer and staying organized through list making has helped me to stand out in my field.

This is just one tactic for achieving more at work and in other aspects of life. Dr. Shannon Reece has a website that offers strategies and tips for women in business. I was included in her post “89 Famous Quotes That Will Rock Your World,” — I’m number 55.  And she gave us “10 Ways to Create Free Time Out of Thin Air.”

I was honored to speak with her on her YouTube show “Spotlight on Success.”  The show is designed to give you a leg up on starting and maintaining a great business.  I’m excited to hear what you think!
