What Your Favorite Character Says About Your Productivity

Certain characters always seem to stick with us. Beyond the quirky characteristics and clever one-liners, our favorite TV characters can reveal more about our personalities than we might think. So what do your favorite characters say about your productivity?

Dexter Morgan from Dexter:  Everyone’s favorite serial killer is dedicated to details.  Each and every episode he tirelessly plans every single nuance of his latest kill. It sounds morbid and like something that I would hate but I was hooked on the series immediately.  If Dexter is your type of character you probably have a very organized closet and your morning routine is the same everyday, down to the minute. I’ve literally been glued to my TV for weeks watching Breaking Bad on Netflix.

Each night Jay and I would watch a few episodes and we are finally all caught up and excited for the series finale in August. The writing and the characters are superb. If you don’t watch it — you need to!

Summer can be a great time to indulge a little and catch up any TV episodes you missed last season or discover your new favorite show. Access to old TV shows has never been easier — with the amount of streaming videos available online, a marathon of your favorite series can be just a few clicks away.
And the best part is, you don’t need to sit through commercials or wait through the end-of-the-season cliffhangers — its all right there for you to watch when you want. (That’s one of my favorite parts about watching an old show. All the episodes are already out!) So break out the popcorn and get cozy on your couch!

Grey’s Anatomy Docs use Checklists…And so do Real Docs

By now I hope that you’re caught up on your DVR..because I’m going to talk about last Thursday’s Grey’s Anatomy episode. Don’t worry – there won’t be any spoilers. But I will tell you that one of the doctors brought attention to one of my favorite things…a checklist!

Over eager Dr. April Kepner bounced through the halls pestering Dr. Christina Yang about using a checklist to make sure all the protocol was met for one of their patient’s care. Dr. Kepner explained that the checklist has been used in aviation for years and helps to cut out human error.

It’s true – I just finished reading “The Checklist Manifesto” by Dr. Atul Gawande and he notes that airline pilots fill out pre-flight checklists and have crisis checklists incase anything goes wrong in flight. Read more
