Finding Success Through List Making

Dr. Shannon Reece

Making lists will make you successful. I’ve said it a zillion times because it’s definitely worked for me. I’m an Emmy award winning TV producer and staying organized through list making has helped me to stand out in my field.

This is just one tactic for achieving more at work and in other aspects of life. Dr. Shannon Reece has a website that offers strategies and tips for women in business. I was included in her post “89 Famous Quotes That Will Rock Your World,” — I’m number 55.  And she gave us “10 Ways to Create Free Time Out of Thin Air.”

I was honored to speak with her on her YouTube show “Spotlight on Success.”  The show is designed to give you a leg up on starting and maintaining a great business.  I’m excited to hear what you think!

Cheat Sheets Make You Organized & Successful

Remember when you were in school and cheat sheets were a bad thing? Well not anymore — now cheat sheets can help you make a more informed decision, save you time and allow you to be less stressed!

As you may know — I’ve teamed up with SkinnyScoop.com as one of their “Tastemakers” and I post lists on their site from time to time. The idea is to give you the “skinny” on all sorts of topics to make your life easier. Their co-founder and CEO is a serious list maker herself and it’s helped her to be the success she is today.  I’m happy to introduce you to Eden Godsoe and her list-making ways! Read more

Back to School Organizing Tips

I’ve been posting about “back to school” a lot lately. I really loved school — my husband thinks I’m a total nerd. But I must confess — high school and college were my favorite. I really love learning, reading and discussing. I think that’s why I love journalism so much — you get to research and become and expert on a number of topics daily. And in a week — they don’t matter anymore and you’re on to something else. It’s great for a short attention span.

But I think being organized really helped me to succeed in college. To help out the less organized I made a checklist for back to campus and got a list from my mother-in-law for parents. And now my friend Scott Gamm, who has blogged here before giving great financial advice, has mentioned me in his slideshow on Mainstreet.com. The slideshow is all about how to be more organized when you hit the books. Check it out and let me know what you think.  I’m slide #3 if you have a short attention span.
