Happy 4th Birthday Listful Thinking!

It’s hard to believe that four years ago I release my first book Listful Thinking. The book tour that followed was the first time I got to meet many of the regular followers of this blog ListProducer.com.

One of my favorite parts of meeting list makers in person was getting to see your lists! That was always so fun. And being able to debate the pros and cons of using technology with lists or keeping it old school. So much fun!

The one thing I really wasn’t expecting to come out of publishing a book was to gain as many international followers as I have. Listful Thinking has been published in 11 languages and counting including:

  1. Arabic
  2. Bahasa
  3. Complex Chinese
  4. Dutch
  5. English
  6. French
  7. Japanese
  8. Korean
  9. Portuguese
  10. Simplified Chinese
  11. Spanish

And it’s coming soon to India and Vietnam!

Not a week goes by that I don’t receive an email from an international reader (often in Chinese and I have to use Google Translate to read it!)

It’s always such a joy to receive those messages – seeing how much list making is such a common practice and so loved all over the world!

So much has changed over the past 4 years. So of course, I made a list:

  • Listful Thinking became a bestseller in the Health, Mind & Body category.
  • My appendix exploded.
  • There was that time I met  Marie Kondo and it sparked joy. (Are you watching her new Netflix show? What do you think? Comment below and tell me more! I’ll be writing a post on it soon.)
  • I used my chops as an Emmy Award Winning TV producer to develop an online course with my friend Terri Trespicio called, Lights Camera Expert. It’s designed to help entrepreneurs, experts and authors get and keep media attention.  If you want a sneak preview here’s our free 3-part video course called “How to Be a Media Magnet.
  • I quit my job at Fox News Channel after more than a decade to become a full-time media trainer and strategist!!
  • I created the Listful Thinking Masterclass workshop to help you get more from your lists and tap into your own personal productivity style. Don’t become a morning person if you’re not one!
  • I’ve gotten to speak all over the country about lists, productivity and media too. Recently I was named one of DataBird’s Top 100 Keynote Speakers!

It’s been a real whirlwind and I’m grateful for all that Listful Thinking has helped me learn and grow. In many ways publishing a book helped me build the confidence that would encourage me to leave my job as a news producer and go out on my own. You better believe I made lots and lots of lists before I took the plunge.

I find that in our lives, change often happens so incrementally it can take a long time before we see the effects of reaching our goals. Little decisions here and there can build up to the big stuff.

If you think about it, there’s probably something you did 4 years ago that helped make you into the person you are today. What was it? I’d love to hear about it!

It’s been so inspiring to see you grow from when you had your Meetup group and writing your book to having the published form translated into multiple languages and becoming a worthy subject of media interest yourself! Bravo and I can’t wait to see what you do next. 🙂 Sandra
