Being productive is not always a lone effort. In my day job and with my interns for this blog, I frequently have to work with a team. Being productive with a team requires collaboration and good communication, but with more people involved there are more opportunities for someone to forget to “reply all.”
Recently my interns and I began using Asana, a web and mobile application, designed by Facebook employees to improve the company’s productivity. We like it because it has allowed us to send fewer emails and it never lets us busy ladies forget anything!

As much as my nature makes me a doer, I wouldn’t be in the job I am in or maintain this site if I wasn’t also a dreamer. Having dreams and visualizing your goals is a key component in personal and professional success because dreams are what keep you going when plans fail!
In the same way it can be encouraging to see a goal written on a Post-It on your desk, it can be equally encouraging to see a photograph of your dream home. I’m a big fan of vision boards or dreamboards.

They are everywhere – colorful squares, tiny translucent flags – wherever you are, you’re likely nearby a Post-It. People everywhere depend on them for reminders, their to-do list, and to get organized.
At any one time I may have a flurry of sticky notes on my desk, on loose pieces of paper, folders, magazine pages and even on my phone!
But did you ever stop to think about how those sticky little squares came to be?
I have been known to manage aspects of my personal life, professional life, and even this blog from my cell phone. It is true that the more our phones are capable of, the more we use them. And the more often we use them, the faster the battery drains. However, the flip side to that is: if you’re dependent on your phone, it’s even more important to keep a charge.
