A Better Way to Deal With Customer Service Calls

When many people talk about being more efficient they think in terms of HOURS  saved. But as it’s just as important to save precious MINUTES where possible too, after all it all adds up.

I hate waiting on hold for customer service. Who doesn’t, right? It’s such a time suck. I thought I had found the perfect solution to bypass this pesky problem. It was an app called FastCustomer. I’d been recommending it and using it for years! Some of you may have even tried it because of me.

Well guess what? It’s disappeared. Yep. Poof. Gone. I reached out to the company to find out what happened but haven’t heard back yet. I’ll let you know if I do.

So I was faced with a new dilemma. How could I ever go back to calling customer service for myself when I’d outsourced it all this time?

My writing assistant Nicole and I went on the hunt for a new tool.

The service that looks most promising is one called GetHuman.com

Here’s how it works:

  1. You type in the company you’d like to reach
  2. The service tells you how long the wait is
  3. You input your phone number and GetHuman will call you when someone from customer service is on the line.

That’s just how FastCustomer worked too. Sounds like the perfect solution to me. There’s also an app that you can download.

I’m all for getting rid of one of the biggest modern day annoyances. Being on hold. So I’m going to test this one out a bit and let you know how I like it. But I was so bummed that FastCustomer  was gone that I had to fill you in as soon as possible.

If you try out GetHuman.com be sure to let me know what you think in the comments!
