Ever Wanted To Give A TEDx Talk?

April 22, 2018/in Decision Making, Lights Camera Expert, People, Tool for Success, TV, Video/by Paula Rizzo

There isn’t an expert, an author, or entrepreneur I know who wouldn’t love to give a TEDx talk. Or to do more speaking in general.

The problem isn’t opportunity (events alone are more popular than ever–and there are tons of TEDx events happening all over the world, year round).

The problem certainly isn’t passion or desire. You’ve got that in spades.

The problem, for most people, is they aren’t sure what it takes to create or land a TED-worthy talk. And they aren’t sure what to do theirs on.

But I know someone who does know—and she’s going to be sharing it in her first-ever live event.

Terri Trespicio is a brand advisor, award-winning writer and top-rated speaker with two TEDx talks under her belt—one of which has 3.6 million views to date. I met Terri when she worked as a magazine editor and since then we’ve become good friends and business partners! We created Lights Camera Expert together, which helps experts get media attention. (VIDEO) Priorigami App Helps to Prioritize Your To-Dos

February 18, 2018/in Apps, Decision Making, Fellow List Producers, Increase Productivity, Learning With a List, Technology, Tool for Success/by Paula Rizzo

I’m always on the lookout for new list-making apps that do more than just store your lists. Helpful, productivity-based apps are not always that easy to come by. Which is why I was excited when I first discovered Priorigami.

The founder of the app, Monisha Longacre was inspired by her love of the Fitbit, and brought its goal-driven style to her productivity app. I was so impressed I arranged a video chat with Monisha to discuss her app and how it can help people prioritize their day.

Check out the video here, where we discuss the following:

  • 3:10 – How to stick to your priorities
  • 5:15 – Why completing your list should feel as good as when you complete your 10,000 steps on your Fitbit!
  • 6:45 – How to create a priority system
  • 8:30 – Finding the prioritization method that works best for you
  • 9:00 – The afternoon shuffle up, or why you should always take a moment to re-think your priorities.
  • 10:45 – How to deal with lingering tasks
  • 12:30 – The importance of breaking your lists down into steps
  • 13:20 Monisha’s top tip!

Priorigami is a free app – if you download the app let me know what you think!

Is My Meeting Scheduler Making Me Rude?

January 7, 2018/in Apps, Increase Productivity, Saving Time, Technology, Tool for Success/by Paula Rizzo

Since I quit my job and went out on my own as a media trainer and coach helping experts, authors and entrepreneurs create videos and podcasts  there’s one productivity site I’ve been using all the time. It’s called Schedule Once. It’s connected to my calendar and allows clients to schedule time to chat with me. It’s brilliant!

Old fashioned scheduling involves a lot of back and forth, Schedule Once makes everything much more streamlined. Clients can quickly go to my page, see when I’m free and pick a time that works best for them.

When it works, it’s great – the thing is, a lot of people don’t want to use it! Read more

5 Productive Gifts to Give a List Maker

December 17, 2017/in Fab Find, Holidays, Increase Productivity, Tea, Tool for Success/by Paula Rizzo

It’s sort of a point of pride for me that I don’t like to just buy people gifts for the sake of buying gifts. I like to find presents that will really mean something to a person. It’s why I keep a list of gift ideas for people throughout the year, to make sure I’m giving them the best gift possible.

But sometimes, I still get stuck!

Some people can be very difficult to buy for or they don’t give you much inspiration for gift ideas. Christmas is nearly upon us so if you haven’t got someone a gift yet, you’re probably about to go into panic mode, but there’s no need. Read more

Reduce Browser Tab Clutter with OneTab

December 3, 2017/in Fab Find, Increase Productivity, Saving Time, Technology/by Paula Rizzo

Part of becoming more productive means purging some of your bad habits. But there are some bad habits you might have and you possibly don’t even realize  how they’re negatively affecting you.

For example, I have a habit of opening lots of tabs in my web browser. Any time I see an interesting article or recipe I’ll open it in a new tab with the intention of reading it later. The problem is I end up with a lot of tabs, so many that it starts to slow my computer down and overwhelm me.

I could always just close them – but I do want to look at them eventually and I always get annoyed when I can’t find something I had planned to read or a video I wanted to watch.

Luckily I have found a solution. Read more
